CFA Equipment
Continuous flight augering ( CFA ) also known as auger cast piling, is a versatile technique used in construction to create a concrete deep foundation, in a wide range of conditions. CFA piles can achieve pile depths +30 metres in depth and can be installed quickly with minimal disruption, perfect equipment for projects that are susceptible to noise or vibration.
Gaggiotti is an international company leader in design and manufacture of drilling tools for piling and foundation since 1969. If your project requires large diameter tools, Gaggiotti in Italy has the experience and skills!
CFA piles, or continuous flight auger, are a type of bored cast-in-place replacement pile, generally used as medium & large diameter foundation piles. The presence of the auger during the execution prevents the collapse of the excavation walls without resorting to the use of support fluids.
The most common drilling methods in specialist foundation engineering are Kelly drilling, continuous flight auger drilling, full displacement drilling, double rotary drilling, drilling with hammer grab and reverse circulation air injection drilling. CFA drilling belongs to the dry rotary drilling methods, it’s suitable for predrilling as well as for the installation of cast-in-place piles.
